King-tides with south swell

Front page news the last two days has been warnings of "king-tides" (especially high tides) which will be combining with a southerly swell to bring flooding to low-lying areas in the state during this Memorial Day weekend.   So went out to our nearest "low-lying area" which is Maunalua Bay in time for the 4:18 PM highest effect today.   Water was coming up and out of  the boat ramp and over the low walls at the beach.   This wall usually has a small beach on its water side, no sign of it today.   Will be in Waikiki tomorrow evening, so will see what it looks like there.  There is already reports of flooding by the airport, with fish reportedly being seen in the pooled water on the roads.
This gives us food-for-thought on climate change.

Extra is the submerged corner of the wall near the boat ramp.
