Exotic

I was all set to photograph some flowers for Flower Friday but I was sidetracked by this little creature.  It was just over a centimetre long and it landed on my Dog rose bush, which the bees seem to love, and I was taken by how exotic it looks.  I have no idea what this insect is called but the colours are amazing and I have included an extra, which shows the metallic tail.  It's probably not a tail, but I don't know what else to call it.
