The Rock and Ducks

We've been to the beach at Tyninghame! S's annual class bar-b-q got lucky this year with terrific weather, so much so that they (not us) were in swimming! We settled for wandering along the beach for half an hour instead, paddling as we went, then doing an about turn and wandering back again. So we were evenly toasted, no sunburn in sight. Some of the folk we saw today were in a fine state though; bring on the after-sun and camomile lotion!

The extra is of what seemed to be an eider duck nursery; all the ducklings were herded together near the shoreline and were being watched over by three or four mother ducks. Had never seen that before! (Strangely, when I took this photo the male eiders were hogging the show!)
