70 years on...

I was on Bute today, campaigning,  and just before the weather broke the Waverley came in - the world's last sea going paddle steamer.

2017 is the 70th anniversary of her maiden voyage and I was struck by the large number of people on board, which was very reminiscent of the old photographs of steamers going "doon the watter" to Dunoon , Rothesay , Millport, Tighnabruaich  and lots of other places, many now even without piers.

So I thought it appropriate to tweak the image just a little in order to conjure up those days.
