Fragile

Fragile and torn
are we,
earth dwellers on our lifetime quest
to find our own
personal
rest;
our place on this
multicoloured sphere,
that spins so quickly,
and tricks us into
not even noticing
its
circle
that it alights
in a dazzling display
of pomp and ceremony.
The zest of who we are
is hidden in a web
of knots and locks
and coils and safes,
of human fibres
that can rarely be seen
but so often be felt,
remembered,
emblazoned on our brain
for all time.
Yes, the world moves quickly,
and yet I,
this moment,
pause awhile.
