Lakeland Dipper 44

Devoke Water

When I took this there was the most almighty crack and roll of thunder. I was about to sit on my rucksack and keep my feet off the ground. Luckily it just kept rolling around the more central fells. The city of Barnscar continues to elude me and with rain threatening I wasn't hanging around. Dipped and got back to the car as the heavens opened. That far hill always reminds me of 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'.
Met up with step daughter and friends cycling the coast to coast this evening ... rather them than me, 60 miles from Whitehaven today and caught in downpour ... over to Alston tomorrow!
