Everyday I Write The Book

On 'yer bike

Started the day with anxiety about the British Airways IT meltdown. TSM flies home tomorrow with BA so all a bit worrying although looking better by the end of the day.

We cycled the harbour through Stanley Park. Fab time, beautiful weather. Bike hire is inexpensive; must be ten years since I've been in the saddle but it's true, you don't forget. I used to cycle to work a lot so soon got back into the gear changes and AIR (Anticipating Idiots Response). Some people are stupid. One family decided to just stop for a chat and left their bikes on the ground in the narrow cycle lane. Amazing.

Arsenal beat Chelsea in the FA Cup Final so TSM was happy as Larry (we got the result about the time we took this picture).

Went over to Granville Island on the ferry where there is lots of eating and markets. Great vegan Asian food and lovely atmosphere. Cutest little ferry boats. Then sat drinking beer and cocktails in a bar in the sunshine for two hours.

Also had my first bath in about a decade this evening and lay there reading a book. Amazing to relax so comprehensively, it's been a great week for chillin'.

Lovely walk down to Gastown this evening and an excellent vegan meal in Meet. Got to see the famous Gastown steam clock. Very pretty area, all old and beautifully lit.

Great day.

Also saw the seamy side of Vancouver and did a little album of street photos, check this out
