Rome

Friday 19th we arrived in Civitavecchia, the port for Rome. It was 1.5 hours drive into the centre of Rome and it was Friday! We were pleased we had booked an organised tour as getting out of the port looked complicated. We had a guided tour in the morning and 2-3 hours of free time in the afternoon. I loved the mixture of ancient and Renaissance Rome we saw so much and I took 100's of photos. This is another place I'll come back to explore. Many people had taken the train into Rome form the Port and used a hop on hop off bus tour. If I was doing it again from the port I think this is the best option.
