By Hawes end

The group rather tired themselves out in the heat of yesterday, so a gentle day by the side of Derwentwater, starting at Hawes End, and keeping in the shade of the trees. 

The foreground log was there - I just made sure that I positioned myself in the right place to make it integral to the composition.
