Rebuilding

Tea duty at St Luke's, so I had to arrive half an hour early in order to switch on the water heater in plenty of time for it to be boiling by the end of the service. Lunch at the carvery, followed by a trip to Asda to get a shower mat (pictured), then an afternoon at home trying to keep cool in the continuing heatwave. Too many years spent in near-freezing air-conditioned studios means I have a very low tolerance for humid heat. Tonight it's causing rheumatic shooting pains down my right arm from where the shoulder is frozen. Having two frozen shoulders is no joke, though at least the left one (which seized up a year ago) is v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y improving again. But the right one is now at the most painful stage.

To cap off the day, the plastic door handle on Mum's tumble drier has sheared off. I need to somehow get the door open to remove the dried duvet cover within and to fit a replacement handle. Could have done without this happening, but no point in worrying about it. We don't have the money spare to buy a new dryer, so fix it I will.

We're still enjoying the novelty of the new shower, just the addition of the non-slip mat and one more grab rail needed to make Mum feel more stable in there.
