Medieval Games

We were up early, and the Hubby drove us to the school where we loaded up on the bus and headed out. The kids were super excited for their field trip, but nervous as well.  They didn't know what to expect.  They just knew it was going to be two days of mental and physical challenge.

There were about 50 students from a few different schools there, and they started off with a game to break the ice.  Then they broke the kids up into mixed groups...6 in total.  Sugar was assigned the Manchester Shire.  She had 3 other kids from her school, and a mix of other kids. They began work on some trust games such as trust lifts....and trust falls. It was fun to watch them working together.

After lunch, they had several challenges.  They all took strategy, and teamwork....and trust.  There was a moat crossing where they had to get everyone on a board in the middle of a shallow pool of water, and then attempt to switch the order they were in without falling in the water.   There was a Wall of Doom, where they had to get all their members up and over a 12 foot wall.  This was crazy to watch....so much opportunity to get hurt.  Sugars Shire was the only one to get everyone over.  They were super proud of that. The challenge featured above was to get all members over the hot lava when they are all tied at the ankles.  This took so much teamwork and timing.   There were many other challenges, and the kids were exhausted.  They had a medieval banquet of soup and bread, and some period entertainment.  They rounded out the evening with a game of Zombie tag to loosen it all up.

Lastly...we had to get 23 wound up kids to bed in a gym......where everything echos......you'd think they'd be tired...but it took awhile to settle down.  I was exhausted and a bit sun burned.  Good day though....
