Van Gogh Banana Flavoured Vodka

Until today I had absolutely no idea that Shetland is a major player in the Vodka market. My local pub is hosting a Vodka Festival and fittingly Michael has brought in Vodka from all around the world especially for the day. Over 30 varieties including Snow Queen from Kazhakstan, Van Gogh Banana Flavour from the Netherlands and Mig Fuel from a little mentioned former Soviet Republic by the name of somewhere else beginning with K ......
Then there's Blackwood's Premium Nordic Vodka from Shetland.
Described on the company's web site as a crisp, bracing vodka with a smooth finish, it is seemingly made with pure spring water from Shetland's remote Heglibister Spring, triple distilled and filtered over Nordic Birch charcoal, then ice filtered. If the vodka bottle is cooled to below 5 degrees, the image of the longship's sails turn red!
The Inverurie Vodkafest runs from Friday the 14th of September until whenever the stuff runs out at the Black Bull Inn.
