A Bee

When we went out for our walk today I noticed that our raspberry bushes were covered in bees ... so when we get back I set about trying to get a decent bee shot. Poor light hampered my efforts with the LX5 so I resorted to the 6D, macro lens and LED ringflash to assist with lighting.

It wasn't easy to spot them, focus and shoot before they moved on to the next flower. I have two or three useable shots out of about a hundred taken. Quite a few have no bee in them at all!

This one looks good in LARGE and there is an extra shot which shows some mites (?ticks) embedded between thorax and abdomen. Apologies if you are about to eat.

Thanks to JDO for hosting Tiny Tuesday

Early blip, off to see Pirates Of The Caribbean later!
