Hydrangea buds

The hydrangea flowers are just beginning to open up. This makes me happy because they will provide me with emergency blip fodder for the next 6 months! Every stage of their cycle is beautiful.
Conventboy1 has just come back from a whitewater kayaking holiday in Italy. I have trained myself not to worry about how dangerous it is (he has shown me some of the videos he has taken) but it is very nice to have him home. His next trip is climbing The Matterhorn which will be even more dangerous. Why cant he have genteel hobbies - like tiddlywinks!
