horns of wilmington's cow

A day of two halves

Wind n' rainy morning, but with two weeks in the same place it didn't feel like much of a waste to spend the morning in the house relaxing. But still, I was itching to get outside, and took the opportunity to get out for my first training ride of the trip (trying to keep this up while away) despite the rain having not yet given up, and the wind blawin' a hoolie. In all honesty it was a fab ride, punctuated only by a break to wait for a car to move on the cow herd completely blocking the road.

By the time I was home the rain had stopped, and by the time we were on Sleat and walking to the ancient village of Leitir Fura the sun was out. A lovely walk, with cuckoos calling, and a site that brought to mind the lives that people who lived in these places had.

And then the wind returned, with lambs sheltering behind their mums, and us sheltering with a drink and dinner.

Even the bad days are good.
