Sun, dust and cobwebs

Our offices are really in need of some tlc. The cleaners have been dragged onto the production lines as we are so busy in the manufacturing department at the moment. I may have to get the dusters and polish out myself, although it has given me a blip so I'm not complaining.

I watched two films tonight.

1st: Free Fire

An all out gun, blazing shoot out movie that tried to be stylistic but lacked the quality of similar approaches made by the likes of Tarantino. Set in the 70's the styles were authentic but as the film's entirety was contained in one small warehouse it wasn't hard. The plot was a thin as it could be with an arms trade deal going sour, then making an hour and a half film out of the gun fight that ensued. 4/10.

2nd: Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.

This was much more enjoyable and focused on the return of a young group of soldiers returning from battle in Afghanistan. This mix of  their present day activities morphing into flashbacks from their time in a war zone worked really well. Although not a true story this film could be seen as a very real representation of what soldiers go through during and after deployments to military action. 7.5/10
