Ne'er cast a clout........

You may have heard the old saying 'Ne'er cast a clout till May be oot'.....it's been in use since at least the 18th century.  A clout is an old word for a piece of clothing, and 'May' is thought to refer to the May flower or Hawthorn.

We had a bright morning, and a wet afternoon.  And as May has now been followed by June I thought the blip of the May Flower or Hawthorn was quite appropriate
