Two faces of a city

Today was the first time I'd been into Manchester since the bomb atrocity.
In St Anne's square the tributes stretched as far as the eye could see and, although the square was crowded, there was an eerie quietness. Armed guards were patrolling the area but the mood was lifted by the sight of them posing for photographs with a little girl.

Elsewhere, however, plus ca change.
