shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusc

I am grateful to Wikipedia for the slug's Latin name. The little one was on our front sidewalk and the black on was on our lawn. I moved the black one on to the sidewalk where it stayed curled up in a ball while we watched and drank our morning coffee.
