Eye Contact

A section of The Poet by  Giuseppe Bonito in the Naples exhibition at Compton Verney.    The poet is a Bohemian figure surrounded by an admiring audience, one of whom engages the viewer with a sidelong glance.   

We were there this afternoon to see the Creating the Landscape exhibition before it closes at the end of next week.  Very interesting and thought provoking, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.  Before taking the tour we had a look in the Naples collection where Bonito's painting of The Poet caught our attention,  I like the way this chap on the edge of the scene looks out at the viewer.   Link above to the whole image.  

As we were leaving a wedding party was getting set up for their photographs .... easy to be wise after the event, but photographs before alcohol might have been a good idea?
