Was It Really So Long Ago

That's a Wrap!

Today started at 05:30 yesterday morning and didn't end until I was on a train, heading home today. This, the last working day was the culmination of an intense bid project spanning 8 months and as is common, we made use of every available minute.

For numerous reasons, it has been the most complex, challenging and lengthy bid I've had the pleasure of managing, engaging over 100 people in our company and a further 60 or so in that of our partner plus a good number in the organisations in our supply chain. It is a team which in the main has not worked together before, but in spite of that has pulled together admirably from the outset, for which I am thankful.

So, having worked in excess of a straight 24 hours at our Southampton office, Paul and I drove to Bristol to deliver boxes and boxes of documents, before heading to the hotel for breakfast, jumping on the nearest train to London for a snooze, eventually arriving at home in the early afternoon.

It must be time for a break - half hols next week! Perhaps a spell re-acquanting myself with the family would be in order!
