Kickin' Up Your Heals

While yesterday's entry was technically here in Las Vegas, NV during our last visit one thing definitely new is the T-Mobile Arena and adjacent gateway The Park. Completed just last year, The Park is a path of restaurants and open spaces which leads from the Las Vegas Strip to the arena. Running right next to our hotel, New York New York, we walked by it many times. Not until I read a sign on Las Vegas Avenue did I venture down The Park to see the sculpture Bliss Dance, shown here.

"This 40-foot-tall sculpture of a dancing woman, celebrates the strength of a woman who is both safe and present," according to the artist's website. "The structure and scale of Bliss Dance was inspired by artist Marco Cochrane's first experience at Burning Man where this sculpture later debuted. Most recently, Bliss Dance resided on San Francisco's Treasure Island as a public display before being refurbished and returned to the desert as a centerpiece of The Park's natural landscaping and Nevada-inspired design". Fun to photograph, especially at dusk.
