A Meandering Life...

Floating along

Catching up with our trip to Alaska, back-blip 3 of 7. Feel free to check out the others.

Today we headed back to Seward for an 8 1/2hr boat trip. All I can say is it's best if I just list the wildlife we saw:

Harbour Seals (in the harbour)
Sea Otters
Mountain Goats
Cormorants
Common Murre
Bald Eagles
Horned puffin
Tufted Puffin
Stella Sea Lions
Humpback Whales (Flukes and all)
Orca (we were surrounded by dozens)
Dall's Porpoise and
4 Black Bears (1 sow, 2 cubs and 1 other adult) These I spotted whilst everyone else were looking at a glacier.

The image that is special to me is this as we approached the glacier. The captain slowed down the boat so as not to disturb these harbour seals. Apparently it is very difficult for them to climb onto rocks or ice so he wanted to keep them happy where they had picked.
