War sore

I can't get enough of Warsaw. This beautiful Old Town was restored and rebuilt after the Second World War left it obliterated, its citizens shattered and in need of deep healing. Now it rivals pretty much any European city for atmosphere.

Too much time today spent following the pre-election furore and wishing more of the electorate were more engaged and less susceptible to hollow soundbites. Brendan Cox said that in most European societies there are roughly a quarter of people engaged on the left, a similar number on the right, but a larger morass of less engaged people who swing elections depending on what resonates with them. A solution would be to foster greater political awareness during school, providing broad perspectives, as unbiased as possible, to allow children to develop independent thought and the ability to analyse and process political events and dialogues. I assume the reason why politics turns a lot of adults off is not solely due to a lack of trust in politicians themselves but also because the subject matter is inaccessible.
