Whalley

Whilst in the village of Whalley (Nr. Blackburn) the church bells were ringing out, so we went to have a look around the church.  What a lovely church it is - and one of the tidiest graveyards I have ever seen.
The 13th Century Church (Saint Mary and All Saints) is Grade 1 listed but the earliest parts date from the 11th Century.

The tower was added in the 15th Century.  It contains eight bells which were cast in 1924 by John Taylor & Co. of Loughborough and today they sounded magnificent.
Mrs MD has blipped the Nave and Organ - my extra is of the Altar and the East Window.
A real gem of a church - well worth a visit.
