and through the wire...

Volunteers

It was an early start for us to accompany my mum up the Guide Dogs Scotland centre in Forfar and we made it by the skin of our teeth. She and my dad (chief helper) had been puppy walking since 1993 and we've seen countless pups grow up and move on to high school and the odd one return due to rejection or on retiral. The puppy walking extends out to fund raising, community events and last minute puppy sitting. Ms H (wee helper) has loved the opportunity to play with different pups and dogs over the years, and was still chasing them round the garden today!

Anyway, she had been nominated for a volunteers award and was surprised to win the award. She'll not like reading this as "it's not her scene" but for us it was lovely to see her (and my dad's) efforts being recognised. Well done Mum!
