Buzz

I love the way bees run around the cups of these Welsh poppies (Meconopsis cambrica) buzzing their wings to dislodge the pollen.

The laceration on Son 2's wrist after his bike accident was looking distinctly gooey today so, as instructed, we headed back to A and E where they had a look, then X-rayed and found that an errant piece of glass was still lodged in the skin. A bit of deft tweezer work was followed by a thorough clean then a dressing was applied before he was sent  home complete with a week's course of antibiotics. Not happy that he's taking them but, having seen a past injury develop into nasty cellulitis it's probably the right decision. Luckily (or perhaps not, once veg-phobic Son 2 realises the consequences) I am reading Michael Mosley's book about boosting the gut biome. It's especially important to do this when taking antibiotics and will involve, among other things in Son 2's case, ingesting a decent daily portion of Sauerkraut. Should be interesting!
