Out of Africa

Out of Africa, the Sahara in fact, Sedge Warblers on a summer vacation here in the Cotswolds.

A chorus of trills and whistles echoed excitedly down the canal bank early this morning - so many but hugely difficult to see the actual birds, being small and very well hidden. They like reed and osier beds, ditches and bushes near water, which we have here in abundance in Tewkesbury but will also breed in standing crops and forestry. A bit of luck here when they flew out of their cover!
