Ruffles

No doubt you will be glad to know this is the last of this series of garden macros, Gentle Reader.  An ant's eye view of the peony petals which have just started opening.  My favourite flowers!  If only they lasted just a little longer.  Their appearance always seems to coincide with the arrival of the first of the summer thunderstorms, which mercilessly beat these top-heavy beauties down to the ground, and leave them in a crumpled shambles like piles of discarded tutus.
