Pap of Glencoe

We were orienteering at Glen Nant near Taynuilt today. It was a brand new area of open hillside and oak woods, and I have to say one of the best areas I’ve been to for ages. The courses were well planned and the terrain really nice and remarkably dry thanks to the spring. What made it even better was the glorious sunshine and cool weather that made it a pleasure to run. Afterwards we went to Bonawe furnace, where we had a long chat with some Kiwis who were travelling around Scotland to see where their ancestors had come from. They were off to Skye, whereas we were off to Ballachulish to stay with a friend. The blip is off the Pap of Glencoe and the end of the Aonach Eagach from close to the Ballachulish Bridge, and the extras from the shore near Ballachulish when we went out with Toby, the dog, for a walk.

Yesterday’s blip.
