This is my best side!

B. treated M and I to a delicious Sunday lunch at the Dales Hotel, and with our appetites catered for we decided to go for a walk at Blakeney.  It was very busy in the car park but quieter once we got out onto the marshes.  We saw Meadow Pippets,  Kestral, Oystercathers, lapwings, Reed Bunting, Sedge Warber, redshank, Shovellers…plus all the usual types of more common birds.
The Jackdaws were hanging around the crab & seafood stall in the car park looking for scraps and so I took the opportunity to photograph this rather handsome bird.
Apparently Jackdaws form very strong bonds with their breeding partners and even if their breeding is unsuccessful, they stay together as they have invested so much time together trying to raise a family.
They are very intelligent and can be trained to perform tasks, there is even mention of one being trained in Italy to steal money from cash point machines…so make sure you look over your shoulder next time you visit the ‘hole in the wall’!
The extra’s are of some low-growing grasses on the marshland and Mallow and Rape Seed flowers which were creating attractive bursts of colour along the edge of the path.
