Folds

This is one of the buds on my peony and it seems to happen almost every year that just as they are about to bloom, we get a spell of wet and/or windy weather.  I like the tight shape of this bud and the way in which the petals are folded together which is so different compared to the shape of the flower once it has opened, and there always seems to be some bug crawling over them doing whatever it is they need to do.
