Norwegian National Day

Today marks the anniversary of the day Norway created its constitution in 1814; however, it didn’t become independent from Sweden until 1905. There is always a small celebration in Edinburgh by the Gneiss boulder in Princes Street Gardens. It was given by the Norwegians in 1978 to commemorate the links between Norway and Scotland during the Second World War.
