Camelia

It always amazes me how, in deepest, darkes winter, the camelias bloom, adding a gorgeous and very welcome splash of colour the the world.  My camelia bush is so large now that I can't reach to the more 'perfect' blooms as they're so high up.

Had another 5.00am start to watch the America's Cup racing and was (like everyone who has seen it!) horrified by Team New Zealand's calamitous second race.  Super high winds, boats reaching speeds over 40 knots and Team New Zealand planted nose first, at speed, ejecting 3 crew and leaving 3 others tucked up in their cockpits hanging on tight metres above the water.  Scary stuff.  Will see what tomorrow brings.........
