Toots in Solitude

Bales

Whether they're hay or straw, large or small I so love them on the landscape.
From Drew I learnt that as well as silage there is haylage and that there are many 'set aside' variations, one of which is 'beetle banks' to encourage beetles and thereby attracting wee birds to the hedgerows.
I do so wish that I'd listened more carefully to all that this learned man told me because I've probably got the 'haylage' bit wrong. My excuse is that we were at Dave Cohens 80th birthday party and I didn't focus very well.

It's a long time since I visited Blip Land. I have a few back blips to catch up with.
