Passing By

Thirty years ago the main street through the village was often clogged wth traffic on its way to the Yorkshire Dales and further west to the coast.
Eventually a bypass was constructed that circumnavigated the village and a quieter life returned.
I remember the verges of the bypass being planted with sapling trees and other measures to soften the harshness of the new major road.
Now the fruition of that planting is reaping rewards and the road is in the centre of a greenway.
Today l went through the underpass on one of my usual walks and went near the verge to show some of the wild flowers and fauna that is resplendent all along the road.

Thanks as usual to Cailleach for hosting Wild Wednesday.
