The River House in Eton

The boarding has finally been erected around the Eton Rafts boathouses on the Thames in Eton, signalling the start of demolition of these listed buildings to make way for a development with half the architectural merit.

I took this nostalgic shot of the River House at the end, with the Castle as a backdrop. I believe this end is going to be retained, but no doubt all period charm will be removed in the process.
