Manx palm

We brought our Cordyline Australis back from the Isle of Man about 25 years ago, having been to the T.T. It was nearly killed by frost, over the cold winters that we sometimes had, but new buds burst through what was left of the trunk and it has gone from strength to strength, since then. For the first time ever, three flower spikes appeared, a few weeks ago and now they are in full bloom, on T.T. race week ! Apparently it isn't to do with male or female plants, as I thought, but it's the fact that conditions are just right for it to flower. That's patience for you !
