The Ladybird That Lost Its Spots

Not sure what this insect is, but it was happy to pose on this lily bud in the back garden this afternoon.

Not a morning for photography on the golf course; we were more intent on trying to keep ourselves dry and our ball heading in the right direction.

One of my playing partners managed a record (for us) of taking 18 shots on one of the par 3s after having trouble getting the ball out of the bunker. Shortly after, it started to rain; it didn't improve his mood.

The weather was looking brighter by the time we walked down to the polling station this afternoon. Two of our neighbours are clerical officers at our local station and told us that there had been a good turnout, with a heartening increase in the number of voters under 30.
