On the Horizon

Time to say goodbye to Daughter A and fly home with a new adventure on the horizon.

The image shows a small portion of Wellington with island bay as we fly out, the Marlbourgh Sounds in the distance, the first row of hills, and then way out on the horizon is Farewell Spit and Golden Bay, this is where Hubby and I are heading tomorrow, just enough time to swap our city clothes for outdoorsy clothes, high heels for tramping shoes and smart city shirts for tee shirts and jackets, beanies, scarves and for me my possum fingerless gloves.

Farewell Spit is the most northern part of the south island and New Zealands longest sandspit, the sand dunes are white and huge - looking forward to this adventure.

As we fly home the build up of clouds is from a bitterly cold front from Antartica bringing with it snow for coastal regions and in the passes - really hoping the Lewis Pass is open in the morning.

Many thanks to everyone for your comments and birthday wishes for Daughter A over the last few days, they are greatly appreciated.  I will visit you when I return from Cape Farewell as internet is a bit unreliable, in the meantime keep well :)

Great in large, more detail :)
