Growing herbs at home

I admit it.  I'm a procrastinator.  
I've kept those green IKEA-papercups with instant soil and seeds in a drawer for two years or more, but finally decided to try it out last weekend.  
In my defence I've tried growing herbs before with little success.  I'm expecting the worst, but hoping for the best....
Today it was time to remove the plastic wrap from the basil and thyme, but the cilantro needs one or two days more under cover.
