Where would we be without wipers?

My first car in the 1970s had one speed wipers that slowed down when the one speed demister fan was switched on. So they were really two speed! How things have improved!
Another day of prolonged heavy showers. Caught out again on a rural road I know well. The drive was harder than ideal as I was up early watching the Election results unfold.
Tea and some nice surprises later were welcome.
