Cube

Out for lunch today with one of my ex teaching colleagues.  Retirement Rocks!  We treated ourselves to such at Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse on the top floor of the building known as The Cube on the waterfront in the city centre.  Fabulous view from up there and we had a good lunch too!  Very tasty.  This shot is one of the views - the view looking down from the restaurant balcony.  I think the shapes and angles are intriguing and you don't really know what you are looking at unless you look carefully.

Late afternoon found us assembling all tiling equipment and going round to Mom and Dad's to tile the floor in their downstairs cloakroom.  It's a very long time since we've done any tiling and we've never done a floor...  It's a very tiny little room and was very fiddly and the words Heath And Robinson spring to mind.  We are hoping to be able to grout tomorrow and then it won't look quite so amateurish!  Mom enjoyed supervising and Dad liked having a few little jobs to do too.  See the cutting man and supervisor in action in the extra.  I have the privilege of putting the tiles in place...
