Common Enchantments

Mountain Laurel

A photographer friend, Risee spent the day with me in the mountains of South Carolina.   We went to  a blackberry patch where we picked (and ate) some really big fat sweet blackberries.  We then drove a few miles to a state park that had a large lake but also a trail all the way around the lake.  The trail was very nice..no one else was walking as they were all at the swimming beach!   It was really not that hot to us as the mountains are so much cooler than where we live.   The mountain laurel was blooming everywhere but this single little blossom and tiny bud caught my attention.

For my last extra, a photo of the Table Rock mountain for which the park is named.  It is a great little park with many trails.  I know there is a long trail that goes from the parking area near the beach to the top of the mountain.   After we left this park, we drove a little further to another park that has an overlook high up where we could see this same view.

Thanks to Anni for hosting Flower Friday.
