Monarchs Wintering Over

Have had a really great day. A friend had four of her grandchildren staying and invited me in to go on an outing with them. Ages 15 , twins of 13 and an 11 year old, They truly were the most well mannered nicest kids you could take out. So appreciative of everything, what a joy to spend time with.
First we went to see the butterfly tree where all the monarchs winter over and then we walked the Wetlands. They hadn't visited either of these places and really enjoyed it. I stayed for dinner with them, the eldest having prepared a beautiful chicken dish.
I then dashed back home to go and watch the rugby with another friend. The British Lions beat the NZ Canterbury side in a game that was all penalties. The Lions are certainly stepping up to the mark now that they are over their jetlag and starting to combine as a team.
My extras are a couple of Pukekos down at the wetlands.
