Thomas Hardy country?

When visiting the lake and the Skocjan cave system, we stayed on a farm.  It was in the middle of nowhere!  Part of it had been rennovated, mainly so that they can get some tourist income I suppose.  However, this was in the working part of the farm.  You would be forgiven for thinking that I'd got into a time machine, went back a couple of hundered years, took a photograph and came back!
