An Ominous Sky.

I tracked the lightning all afternoon on the computer; watching the strikes march up the Borders, and seeing the sky get darker and darker outside the window, feeling the air get closer and more still.

I could hear distant thunder boom and rumble from the Pentlands, and anticipated the lightning to begin to fork out of the clouds at any moment.  My camera aimed south out of the window, and I held my breath.

Instead, nothing - the storm just stopped.  Lightning strikes near Kirkcaldy and Ratho, then the stormclouds passed and the birds began to sing again.
