Rosa rugosa

After an uninspiring start to the day, by mid morning it had improved greatly.  The drizzle stopped, the sun shone and Ollie and I were able to be out in the garden.  Lots done, moving pots, cutting back battered plants, tying up fallen ones, weeding and mollusc massacring!

The wind has been so fierce over the last few days that some of the bamboo canes I'd used to support plants up with had snapped!  I've cut my losses and dug up the poor old hollyhock.  A combination of wind and snails had done for it!

Lots of rosa rugosa growing wild round here, and it is just starting to look its best.
