Flower Festival

Our lunch at the Old Bakehouse was delicious and the service excellent, the experience enhanced by the fact that, despite every table being laid for lunch, there were no other diners until we had almost finished.

Learning that today was the culmination of West Linton Whipman Play and there was fun activity in the park, we wandered down and mingled with the crowd for quite some time. S and I also visited a flower festival in the church, admiring so many delightful arrangements on the theme of 'All Things Bright And Beautiful', the blip, representing The Purple-headed Mountain I particularly liked.

The Flumlet, having behaved so well over lunch, enjoyed a session on trampolines, then he and I tried to play Poohsticks from the bridge (the net for the Duck Race got in the way) so he threw stones into the ford until time to come home.

There is still much fun to be had over the summer, dates for the other Border events, like Common Riding, are listed on the left of the link.
