Ben Cruachan

We met up with s and R in Stirling and then headed up to Dalmally in their car. They wanted to go up the Munros of Beinn a'Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich at the head of Loch Awe. There was a shower as we passed Tyndrum, but it was dry and quite warm as we went up Beinn a'Chochuill. At the ridge it turned quite windy, but remained bright with good views north and also of the nearby Ben Cruachan. The blip is of Ben Cruachan with a wisp of cloud near the summit; there are a few small patches of snow in the coire just below the summit. We admired the view and set off for Beinn Eunaich; the weather changed really quickly and we had to put on our waterproofs as a thunderstorm moved in. The temperature plummeted and the hail lashed down. The storm was quite close so we kept off the ridge, but quite quickly it stopped raining and hailing and the cloud disappeared. The extra show some cloud on Beinn a'Chochuill.

Yesterday’s blip.
